Over the past five decades, the School of Design and Environment (SDE) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) has contributed to making Singapore into “An Endearing Home and a Distinctive Global City” (Ministry of National Development). Working with policy makers and industry partners to advance the frontiers of creativity, innovation and research, we have nurtured many generations of architects, planners, designers, as well as real estate and building professionals. Together, we helped build our nation in the initial years of independence, shaped our cityscape into a modern-day metropolis of smart infrastructure and sustainable developments, and transformed Singapore into one of the world’s most liveable cities.
