Hanyang University International Summer School 2020 in Seoul, South Korea (Scholarship Available)

Hanyang University is the successor of DongA Polytechnic Institute, which was established in 1939 as the first engineering college in Korea. Today, Hanyang is home to more than 32,000 students in 24 colleges and 21 graduate schools. To continue its momentum of progress, Hanyang University has been striving to promote internationalization and consequently, over 1,000 courses instructed in English by about 200 foreign professors are offered every sememster. Efforts such as these have allowed Hanyang to recruit more than 8,000 international students in total, while boosting relations with about 800 universities worldwide.

Hanyang International Summer School is one of Korea's biggest and most popular summer programs. In 2018, more than 2000 students spent 4 weeks in one of Korea's leading private universities. HISS offers world class education combined with a variety of unique cultural experiences. Every year HISS is thrilled to host an increasing number of students and faculty from around the world, and this year we are looking forward to meeting you!

Hanyang University offers two types of short-term study programs during the summer vacation. Each program has its own unique characteristics and differentiates itself from one another. Find out more about each program below

This program balances academic courses with cultural immersion. Credits can be transferred back to the home university, and students can have a unique experience of Korean culture.
Students will have the chance to participate in short day trips and activities in addition to the lectures. These activities will help enhance the Korean experience and provide ample opportunities for discussion among students. All activities are scheduled during Fridays and weekends, when students do not have to attend classes. All field trips are free of charge for HISS-students. On top of these field trips more activities and events are organized.

Scholarship:
Students from active partner universities are eligible for 40% discount on tuition fees. Other scholarships are not available for students from partner universities.

Other Scholarship:
The below mentioned scholarships do not apply to stduents from active partner universities.
With the exception of the Early Registration Scholarship, students are only eligible for one of the scholarships aforementioned.

Early Registration (KRW 200.000)Students who register before Febuary 29th - the early registration deadline - are elgible for this scholarship.
Academic Excellence (KRW 500.00)
Students whose cumulative home university‘s GPA is over 95% are eligible for this scholarship.
HISS/HIWS Alumni (KRW 500.000)
Students who have enrolled in HISS/HIWS before are considered Hanyang Alumnus and are eliglble for this scholarship.
Hanyang Family (KRW 500.000)
Students whose parent is a HYU Alumnus or is a full-time faculty or staff member at HYU are elgible for this scholarship.
