INDONESIAN YOUTH CHANGE MAKERS SOCIETY LEARN FROM THAILAND, Thailand (Fully Funded)

Learn From is one of our Exchange program that provides a platform for the best Indonesian Youth to learn new experiences from another country by visiting it. In this program, the participants will do some empowering agendas and learn about culture of the destination country which is Thailand.Thailand is one of the South East Asia Country with a high diversity, from cultures, ethnic groups and religions. There are Buddhism, Islam, Christian, Hinduism and other religions in Thailand. The people can live together in peace and tolerance between one and another, even if they are in diversity because Thailand appreciates the freedom of religion. The diversity also applied in education system where Thailand implements an education with multilingual system in order to respect different linguistic and cultural background.

The city that we chose is Singhanakhon which is located in Songkhla province. Majority of the people in Songkhla is Malay. Just like any other area in Thailand, Singhanakhon also consist of different religions, culture and background. 40% of the people is Muslim, 50% of them are Budhhist and 10% are other religions. Even if they live in various diversities, the people still live in peace and tolerance in harmony. For the profession, they work as farmer, pottery workers and sellers. Singhanakhon also has a good nature resources, especially in fruits plantation. The last thing about Singhanakhon and Thailand is, they have a different education stage with Indonesia.From a description above, the participants will learn lots of things in Singhanakhon, such as leave in peace in diversity, the farming, education and culture exploring. At the other side, they also will bring and give something for Singhanakhon. Therefore, in this program we will provide several agendas, such as sharing section, orchard visit, cooking class, learning Thai language, teaching for children in Singhanakhon.

Goals

To learn and explore the cultures in Thailand as general and Singhanakhon specially. Particpants will know by from the food, daily life, education and any other things about in destination place.
To learn the Thai language by directly visit Thailand and having interaction with its people.
Giving the new experience of the participants to learn and sharing in another country.
To learn about the tolerance between one and another in the diversity of religions and cultural backgrounds.
To share the knowledge that the participants have to other people in Singhanakhon by teaching the students of Singhanakhon about English.

Willing to join the learning and empowerment program in Thailand
Holding Pancasila spirit and have a commitment to bring a good name of Indonesia in international arena
Willing to join the learning and empowerment program in Thailand
Youth at the age of 16 – 25 years old
Uphold the global empowerment spirit
Having a good personality
