Summer School Scholarship - 3D Animation World at Riga Technical University 2019, Europe

For those, who are swept away by possibility to brighten up your drawn fantasies to life in 2D and 3D world, Riga Technical University offers the Summer Camp «Animation World»!

The Summer School is an introduction to the entire process of animation: drawing sessions, character design, cinematic storytelling, object animation, opportunity to work with editing, space, timing, cut-out and stop motion, interaction and 3D modelling programmes. It combines the creative and technical aspects of 2D and 3D animation with information about today’s animation industry.

Programme
3D ANIMATION WORLD will involve academic classes, practical group work, organisation visits, cultural and leisure activities.

The course aim is to increase students’ knowledge of the entire process of animation and visual narrative and improve the participant’ practical skills and techniques.

Benefit:

Student from the following countries can obtain Latvian government scholarships* for the summer school. Scholarship covers accommodation, catering, lectures, workshops, excursions, field trips and cultural activities except travel, visa and insurance costs.  (Include Indonesian)

Learning outcomes:

• Increase students’ knowledge of the entire process of animation and visual narrative.
• Improve the students’ knowledge, practical skills and techniques
• Identify the basic principles of traditional animations and generate a short 2D animated film.
• Creation of traditional and simple animation and then re-create it in 3D world.
• Insight into modern trends of animation (world examples of animation).
• Get acquainted with Latvian animation- it’s history and mondern day achievements.
• The Summer School «Animation World» will be delivered in the form of workshops and lectures, studio projects, individual and group work (discussions, critiques). Field trips on animation and movie production companies as well as places of interest that inspire professional animators will be organized within the study programme of the Summer School.
