[PhD Degree and Post Doctoral] Coimbra Group Short Stay Scholarship Programme 2019 for young researchers from Sub-Saharan Africa (Fully Funded)

Universities of the Coimbra Group offer short-term visits (generally 1 to maximum 3 months) to young African researchers from higher education institutions from Sub-Saharan Africa. The main aim of this scholarship programme is to enable scholars to undertake research in which they are engaged in their home institution and to help them to establish academic and research contacts. The scholarships are financially supported by the Coimbra Group member universities participating in this programme, while the Coimbra Group Office is in charge of the administrative management of the applications.

•  €1500 per month
• University of Coimbra (Portugal)
• €750 per month +  reimbursement of travel  expenses up to €1100 
• University of Cologne (Germany)
• €1000 per month +  reimbursement of travel  expenses up to €1000 
• University of Granada (Spain)
• €800 per mont+ health insurance + reimbursemen of travel expenses up to €800 
• University of Graz (Austria)
• €1000 per month +  reimbursement of travel expenses up to €600 
• University of Groningen (The Netherlands)
• €1190 per month (to cover housing and other expenses) + reimbursement of travel costs up to €1250 + Health insurance(about €40 per  month)

• €3200 to cover all costs

• Lump sum:  1 month: €2000 2 months: €2800 3 months: €3600

• €150 per week + board and accommodation at a university student residence + travel costs (economy class) + health insurance policy 
• University of Poitiers (France)
• €1000 + reimbursement of travel expenses up to €700  
• University of Salamanca (Spain)
• the University will provide accommodation and food
• University of Siena (Italy) 
•  €1000 per month (€250 per week) + free board and lodging 

Requirement:

Applicants should be:

• born on or after 1 January 1974
• nationals of and current residents in a country in Sub-Saharan Africa, Eexcept Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, and Tunisia (applicants from these countries are eligible under the Scholarship Programme for Young Researchers from the European Neighbourhood).
• current staff members of a university or an equivalent higher education institution in Sub-Saharan Africa
• doctoral/postdoctoral or equivalent status. 
• Female candidates are encouraged to apply and will be prioritised.
   

In most universities the language of instruction is that of the country itself, but in many universities it is possible to useEnglish as the working language.
