The first of its kind in the Arab world, the ICT Fund was launched in 2007 by Telecommunications Regulatory Authority to achieve rapid, progressive and concrete developments within the ICT sector in the UAE. The Fund launched its operations to jump start innovation within the ICT sector in the UAE mainly in the fields of intellectual capital, technological leadership, smart research, innovative ideas, and incubating start-ups.The Fund’s Board of Trustees is chaired by TRA and encompasses high level professionals and dignitaries from the ICT private sector, the academia, and the telecom operators of the UAE, Etisalat and du; both contributing 1% of the annual net profit to finance the Fund’s operations.

At the heart of this progress is the UAE IT sector, having expanded by an impressive 27.5% in 2005, with significant growth projected to continue. Helping to drive this momentum is the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Fund. A new venture dedicated to advancing the UAE ICT sector both regionally and globally, the ICT Fund proudly shares the UAE’s commitment to innovation and progress. The first of its kind in the Middle East, the ICT Fund is designed to fuel innovative research & development projects within the UAE ICT sector as well as support education and training in the field.
Requirements:
For the undergraduate (Bachelor’s) Degree program
- Should be a UAE citizen and provide a civil registry as a proof
- Have achieved a minimum score of 75% in secondary school certificate or its equivalent in schools
- Should apply for a specialization in the field of telecommunications and information technology
- Should have been graduated from secondary school or its equivalent during the last three years
- Should not be employed
- Should not have received a scholarship or other financial assistance from any other entity.
- Should be a UAE citizen and provide the family book as a proof
- Should apply for a specialization in the field of telecommunications and information technology
- Should have achieved a cumulative score of 3.00 and above in the bachelor’s degree
- Should not have received a scholarship or other financial assistance from any other entity
- In case of employment, the Master’s degree student is entitled for the scholarship without the monthly allowance
Required Documents:
- Full Acceptance/Admission Letter. (Conditional or partial Approvals will not be accepted)
- Certified High school Certificate for undergraduate students certified by the Ministry of Higher Education or equivalent (showing the final result)
- Transcript for students continuing the undergraduate program (an official transcript that contains the seal (stamp) and signature of the registers office.)
- Family book (all pages without exception)
- Official IBAN letter that contains the seal (stamp) and signature of the bank.
